The 2020 season can be compared to that of 2019: a mild, rainy winter followed by a dry summer with several hot spells, which were less pronounced than in 2019 but had an impact on the vineyard. Fortunately, some rain fell in June between two dry spells. Although we remember 2020 as a hot, extremely sunny year, the sunshine and temperatures were more or less in line with the norm. These continental weather conditions, whose annual average can be described as abnormal, produced ripe, balanced wines. The grape harvest took place from August 22 to September 11. A wonderful golden yellow color. Even, dynamic perlage. Bouquet with notes of yellow fruit (nectarines) and ripe, densely concentrated citrus fruit (lemons). There are also sweet notes of pollen/flowers, reminiscent of almonds and harvest aromas. An extremely fruity, complex wine, pure, aromatic and wonderfully intense with light smoky notes. On the palate, it is supple, velvety, full-bodied and juicy. The almost salty effervescence is integrated into a densely concentrated, generous texture. A well-balanced, elegant champagne with a beautiful balance of substance and crisp, chalky freshness. Powdery, saline and beguilingly fresh! Slightly wood-influenced smoky notes ensure a long, deliciously chiseled finish.
