2006 d'Yquem

The first time since 1893 that 150 barriques in the cellar were already filled with sweet grape juice on September 15. Start September 6th. 80 % Semillon, 20 % Sauvignon Blanc. Only 125 grams of residual sugar, which is rather low. Bright, shiny yellow. Very fruity bouquet, lemon oil, mirabelle plums, freshly extracted acacia honey, a beautifully packaged sweetness. Creamy, juicy palate, very elegant, with a dancing balance, again lots of ripe yellow cooked fruit, apricot jelly, cooked Williams pears, somehow a "Sauternes-light" or a sweet Meursault. Either way, it will be a Yquem that you can also drink with an aperitif and never get tired of. Except for the question of budget. It can't be a great Yquem, but a perfume of one. Quintessence: "Yquem -light!
