As Austria's most widely cultivated white wine variety, Grüner Veltliner had lost its reputation in the wine world. Thin and sour, uninteresting and for the masses. Only a few wines from the Wachau enjoyed greater acceptance among critics and wine gourmets. By uncompromisingly reducing yields and throwing old "Doppler" traditions overboard, a group of young winegrowers have managed to win the grape variety the place it deserves worldwide. Martin Nigl has played his part with the " Privat ".
