2022 Old Vine Zinfandel Gnarly Head

Dark ruby red, ripe blueberries and cherries, tobacco, some leather and spicy herbs, fine vanilla aromas, mild and juicy with a velvety finish. Zinfandel originally comes from Croatia and corresponds to the indigenous Crljenak Katelanski vine. Today, Zinfandel vineyards can be found particularly in California. The relationship to the southern Italian Primitivo is clear, although the Zinfandel is usually somewhat spicier and more elegant. Delicato's Zinfandel comes from old vines (Gnarly Head - gnarled vines) that produce intense berries. The ageing in wood gives it a portion of melting and vanilla aromas, as is traditionally the case with Californian reds. Mild and full-bodied food companion.
