The Rosso del Conte, first created in 1970, is the first expression of great quality and longevity to be produced in Sicily. Created by Count Giuseppe, it embodies the characteristics of the Regaleali winery. It has its origins in Perricone and Nero d'Avola and is grown in the gobelet system on the San Lucio vineyard. Its history is long and characterized by constant developments, for example various ageing techniques were used: chestnut barrels between 1970 and 1987, oak barrels from Slavonia until 1992 and then French tonneaux and barriques. It was the first wine in Sicily to be produced from grapes from a single vineyard.

Tenuta Regaleali – Sicilian wine art with tradition
and passion
Tenuta Regaleali is a traditional winery in the heart of Sicily, owned by the Tasca d'Almerita family for over 200 years. Alberto and Giuseppe Tasca are now the eighth generation to run the family winery and continue what has always been a trademark of the family: preserving tradition, creating space for innovation.
Known for its unique combination of history, terroir and innovation, the winery cultivates a variety of autochthonous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Grillo. On the extensive hills of the Tenuta, wines are produced that reflect the characteristic climate and diversity of Sicily. With passion and a sustainable approach, Tenuta Regaleali produces wines of exceptional quality and authenticity, embodying the essence of Sicilian viticulture.
Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, is an up-and-coming and at the same time traditional wine region of Italy. The sunny, dry climate and the volcanic soils – especially around Mount Etna – offer ideal conditions for wines with a strong character. Sicily is particularly known for autochthonous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Grillo, Catarratto and Frappato.
The combination of modern techniques and thousands of years of winemaking history makes Sicilian wines sought after worldwide. Diverse landscapes, sustainable viticulture and a strong terroir profile characterize the region.
