2017 Hawequas

The wine matured for 24 months in small oak barrels (25% new). It presents itself with a dark, ruby red color and smells of mocha, vanilla, green peppers and dried dates. Powerful and opulent on the palate with complex fruit and density. The ageing in barriques gives the wine structure and density. A wonderful harmony between the fruit and roasted aromas. Long finish.

Recommendation: Serve chilled at 10-12 degrees Celsius, preferably in large wine glasses, as this allows the many aromas to develop best. The wine goes very well with fried fish dishes, e.g. fried sole with creamy porcini mushroom risotto, as well as white meat and medium-strong cheeses. Optimal drinking maturity until 2027.
