Pianodario, one of the 4 regions where we live and work, is located at an average altitude of 775 meters above sea level between the hamlet of Montelaguardia and Randazzo. The area covers 7.91 hectares, of which 3.8 hectares are vineyards. It is characterized by terraces with dry-stacked walls and a morphology that slopes from south to north with an average gradient of 7%. The area where the vineyards are located is characterized by volcanic formations that are between 15,000 and 4,000 years old. It can be assumed that the soil under the Pianodario vineyards is stratified, with a top layer of soil between 15,000 and 4,000 years old over much older soil (40,000 to 30,000 years old).
