Owned by Fattoria Le Pupille since 1996, the Poggio Valente vineyard is a large site with great potential for outstanding Sangiovese. The Sangiovese was matured for 18 months in tonneau barrels, half of which were new wood. Deep ruby red in the glass, with a complex, intense nose with notes of cherry, fine spice and tobacco. Dense on the palate with an elegant tannin structure and a long finish with notes of blackberries. Decant with pleasure. A good accompaniment to game and hearty pasta dishes.
