2021 Riesling Roche Roulée

This wine comes from the gravelly and silty soils of the alluvial valley of Turckheim. Although this vineyard is flat, it enjoys intense sunshine, especially in the evening, as it is shaded by the Vosges mountains much later than most south- or east-facing slopes. The soils are also well drained and very dry. Yields are naturally low, so this wine is often very intense and aromatic, with a good level of ripeness. The 2021 fermented for over a year before becoming dry, as the acidity is particularly high in this vintage, giving the wine an almost chalky mouthfeel.
