2006 Mouton Rothschild Magnum

One of the greatest proportions of Cabernet in a long time. Very dark wine red with violet and almost black reflexes. Classic Mouton cassis bouquet, dense, full and sweet, in the background black dried berries, bounty coconut, dark chocolates, coffee dessert beans, mineral touch, turpentine nuances, rising to head. Amazingly juicy on the palate because the tannins are fine and very elegant, silky texture, balanced astringency, lots of spice tones on the finish, delicate chocolate bitterness and lots of cassis again. Strongly resembles its own 1994, perhaps with a trace more power, but also "noble arrogance", brilliant length. (19/20). 14: On two evenings during a Wine & Dine in Lausanne. Wild bouquet, glutamate, gamey poultry, then the enormous sauce. Lots of plum tones on the palate, slightly dry tannins, but that could be from the astringency. Shows quite a bit of volume in the body, so this will be a pretty thick Mouton.
