The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina is strikingly beautiful. Rich, open and seductive, the Rennina captures all the best qualities of the year. Sweet red cherry, plum, tobacco and spice notes are all supported by ripe, silky tannins that give the wine much of its sensual personality. The intensity of the vintage is evident, yet the Rennina also retains a striking freshness. Historically, Rennina has aged quite well, but it will be hard to resist as it is already quite delicious.

Angelo Gaja ist ein berühmter italienischer Winzer. Er ist bekannt für seine hohen Qualitätsansprüche, die Sorgfalt bei der Weinbereitung und eine klare Vorstellung von einem "Gaja-Wein".
Die Wurzeln der Firma liegen in Spanien (17. Jahrhundert). Das Weingut Gaja wurde dann 1859 von Giovanni Gaja , einem Traubenproduzenten in Barbaresco, gegründet. Seit den 1980er Jahren hat der Betrieb sein Weinangebot in anderen Gebieten des Piemont und der Toskana erweitert und produziert heute auch Barolo und Brunello di Montalcino.
Der derzeitige Eigentümer Angelo Gaja ist bekannt dafür, mit seinen önologischen und wirtschaftlichen Methoden großen Einfluss auf die Weinproduktion in ganz Italien gehabt zu haben. Seine Weine werden als Statussymbol auf eine Stufe mit Château Lafite-Rothschild oder Krug gestellt.
