Bright, deep red-ruby colour. Restrained, very pure aromas of black raspberry, minerals and smoky underbrush; seems even riper than the Grand Clos des Epenots. The black cherry and mint flavors have fantastic sweetness and richness. The finish is supple and long, with substantial, late-onset tannins. Still a touch of malic acidity here, but this very fine-grained wine shows Grand Cru class. One of the most promising 2014 Côte de Beaune wines I've tasted this fall.
