It may not be a function of botrytis (Weil insists none was present this year until you reach wines labeled "Auslese"), but this bottling adds notes of honey and brown-spiced Rainier cherries to a rather predictable matrix of fresh pear, muscat and apple. Creamy in feel, delicate and unashamedly sweet, it finishes with imposing richness and sheer length, though without the clarity or intriguing fruit-mineral interaction that characterized the two Kabinetts in this collection.
