The 2016 Bourgneuf is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Medium garnet-purple in color, it opens with very pretty notions of crushed red cherries, blackberry pie, wild blueberries and potpourri, as well as hints of tapenade, camphor and tobacco leaf. The palate is medium to full-bodied, offering great intensity of fragrant black fruits framed by rounded tannins and plenty of freshness, with a long and fragrant finish.
