2016 Troplong Mondot

Aged 77% in new French oak barrels and 23% in one-year-old French oak barrels and composed of 89% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Troplong Mondot is deep garnet-purple in color and emerges from the glass with bold aromas of preserved plums, Black Forest cherry pie and Indian spices, as well as hints of espresso, black olives, cigar box and plowed earth. Full-bodied, rich, plushly textured and oh-so-decadent, it packs the spiced black fruit layers and finishes with fantastic persistence.
