2016 Troplong Mondot

Aged 77% in new and 23% in one-year-old French oak barrels and composed of 89% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Troplong Mondot has a deep garnet-purple color and comes out of the glass with powerful aromas of preserved plums, Black Forest gateau and Indian spices, as well as hints of espresso, black olives, cigar box and tilled earth. Full-bodied, rich, plushly textured and oh-so-decadent, it packs layers of spiced black fruit and finishes with fantastic persistence.
