The structure of Barda is rather airy and open and was designed to be drunk fresh and young. Its alcohol content is generally low - 12 to 13 percent. Sourced from Chacra's youngest vineyards, Barda is full of character and versatile - a perfect accompaniment to most foods. The vineyards, planted in 1990, grow on slightly sandy soils. Like all our vineyards, the Barda vineyards are ungrafted and a mass selection with a yield of over 2 kilos per plant. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in round cement tanks, with natural and unfiltered indigenous yeasts.
