Purple red in color, the nose presents a wonderful blend of black fruits such as plums and blackcurrants. Notes of black tea and hints of Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme lead to a structured mouthfeel with denser and more elegant tannins, reflecting the style of the vintage and culminating in a salinity that epitomizes the classic Bolgheri style.

Recommendation: Serve this wine at 16 degrees Celsius. Pairs perfectly with grilled entrecote of beef with grilled vegetables, also very good with roasts from the oven.

The roots of the company lie in Spain (17th century). The Gaja winery was then founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja , a grape producer in Barbaresco. Since the 1980s, the company has expanded its range of wines in other areas of Piedmont and Tuscany and now also produces Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino.
The current owner Angelo Gaja is known to have had a great influence on wine production throughout Italy with his oenological and economic methods. His wines are considered a status symbol on a par with Château Lafite-Rothschild or Krug.
