A delicately fruity, elegant, mineral Riesling from outstanding slate vineyards on the Saar. Saar wines are considered the most elegant wines in the entire wine-growing region and are both light-footed and expressive.

Saar Riesling (known outside Germany as "Riesling estate bottled from old vines") comes from Wiltingen and grows on red slate mixed with river sediments such as sand, gravel and clay.
Like no other wine, it represents all the advantages of the sub-appellation and maintains a particularly high quality as a "simple" VDP estate wine. The floral, smoky nose with hints of flint - also referred to by Nik Weis as the "smell of a thunderstorm" - is indeed reminiscent of the air after a thunderstorm in the countryside, when standing among the vineyards or in a summer meadow. On the palate, there is a light fruity sweetness, hearty acidity and mineral salinity, all in perfect balance with each other. The Saar Riesling is animating and invigorating, full of power and elegance at the same time. Asian, spicy or exotic dishes such as curries complete the taste experience.
