2010 Latour 1er Cru

Very dark garnet with violet and black reflections, dense in the middle. Noble, discreetly cool and also reserved Cabernet bouquet, truffle notes, bakelite, black plums, appears sublime, showing clear, classic Latour aromas. Big palate, lots of flesh, demanding, but also quite pleasant astringency, one third blueberry, two thirds black berry, shows muscles and edges and is not dissimilar to its 1988 in its principles, simply with more alcohol, tannins and acidity. Here you have to leave the box nailed shut for 20 years if you don't want to miss a large part of what is hidden inside. After so many years of polished primeur presentations, this is once again a truly henpecked Latour of old grist and grain.
