The Pavie Macquin 2018 has a deep garnet-purple color and is somewhat closed at first. It slowly reveals subtle aromas of dark chocolate, candied violets and rosehip tea over a core of plum jam, blueberry compote and cherry coulis, as well as hints of wood smoke and crushed stones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and has an impressive structure of ripe, firm, velvety tannins and a bold freshness that carries all the rich black fruits. It finishes very long and mineral.
