The mild winter led to early budding. In spring, the cool and rainy weather spared the vineyard from frost. The vine cycle slowed down, heralding a year of average earliness. The very hot and dry summer accelerated the cycle and produced ripe fruit for the harvest. The vines withstood the heat thanks to the draining and refreshing role of the clay.
