2020 Gewürztraminer Cuvee Laurence

The Cuvée Laurence, which owes its name to one of the daughters of the late Colette Faller, comes from the magnificent Altenbourg vineyard, located at an altitude of 200 meters on the slopes just below the outer limit of the Grand Cru Furstentum. This terroir favors early ripening and is ideal for ripening Gewürztraminer grapes, with a soil rich in marl, limestone and sandstone. Hand-picked, the fruit of this noble grape variety is harvested at the perfect moment of ripeness, and the winery prefers a non-interventionist approach in the cellar; the wine is aged in old oak barrels and reveals typical aromas of spices, flowers (especially rose and honeysuckle) and fruit (yellow fruit, lychee). On the palate, it is silky, supple and generous with a fine, long and complex finish.
