The 2020 Côtes Catalanes Asphodèle Blanc comes from very old Grenache Gris vines and was aged in larger oak. It offers a downright rocking nose of pure white peach, caramelized nuts, white flowers and brioche. Rich and medium-bodied, with good acidity, it shows only traces of its oak elevage on the nose, but brings pure, clean fruit to the palate, as well as a great sense of chalky minerality. It is wonderfully accomplished and can compete with the best white wines from Roussillon. Bravo!
