2020 Meyney

52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 13% Petit Verdot. The Merlot was harvested from September 16 to 24, the Petit Verdot from September 23 and the Cabernet Sauvignon from September 24 to October 1. Cold soaking and some malo were carried out in new barrels. Maturation in barriques (35% new).
Dark, shiny purple red. Very glamorous indeed. Mature but fresh nose with an interesting balsamic note. The palate is velvety smooth at first, with spicy tannins (which are indeed present in abundance) that only hug the palate at the end, which is dry but not drying. The finish is very long and sumptuous, revealing the stony character of St-Estèphe. Very elegant, without concessions to simple sweetness.
