2022 Batonnage

Batonnage 2022 - The quintessence of Burgenland red wine art A wine like no other: Batonnage 2022 combines the power of Blaufränkisch, the spice of Cabernet Sauvignon and the fullness of a fully ripe Merlot to create an exceptionally dense, concentrated cuvée. The grapes come from the barren, mineral sites of the Leithagebirge near Jois and the renowned Andauer Prädium - two of the best origins in Burgenland. The "5 Musketeers" meticulously select only fully ripe to slightly overripe grapes on the day of harvest, which are then cold macerated and fermented at 4°C. Maturation in new French barriques using the "double oak" method gives the wine structure, depth and a fine tannin backbone. Batonnage 2022 is a monument - highly mature, powerful (15% vol.) and elegant at the same time, filled in bottles full of character and hand-sealed with the finest wax. With a limited edition of only 165 to 335 cases, each bottle is a rare collector's item.

Food Pairing (Food recommendation): A perfect accompaniment to braised beef, rack of lamb, game dishes or mature hard cheese. Can also be enjoyed on its own - an experience for special moments.
