This remarkable Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Famille Isabel Ferrando winery is sourced from a two-hectare parcel in the Saint Préfert region. The sunny terroir, which extends over two sections, consists of soils with pebbles, blue clay, gravel and sand.
Each of these soil types gives the wine a unique complexity, combining the creamy and floral notes of Roussanne grapes with the salty freshness of Clairette grapes. Through careful management of the vineyard and a moderate harvest, the characteristic minerality of this granitic soil is expressed in tastings.
Vinification takes place in glass vats for six months to ensure purity and freshness, and in barrels for two wines to emphasize the saltiness and tension.
