The Johanneshof winery is located at the foot of the Petersberg in Gau-Odernheim. Today we, Axel and Liane Becker, lead the Johanneshof with a lot of love and passion. We are now working on almost 22 hectares of vineyards. These are mainly in Gau-Odernheim in the Legen Herrgottspfad and Oelberg.
Heavy and limestone -shaped tonmer gel floors, shell limestone, limestone, Schwarzende and loess clay dominate here. Our burgundy vines feel particularly comfortable on these floors. It is this variety and the microclimate that create unique wines. We also manage vineyards in Framersheim, Dolgesheim and Albig.
Wine is and determines our life. We are nature -loving people and take responsibility for our country and our soil very seriously. Therefore, we try to work as gently and sustainably as possible in all areas. We would like to maintain and prepare the soil for the following generations. That is why we are increasingly relying on Piwis (= mushroom -resistant grape varieties) in recent years in order to continue working with the country and soil in the future. Future wines! With us, tradition meets modernity. We have renovated the old estate buildings over 100 years old and had modern technology equipped. So we can work optimally in the basement. However, one part has remained the same, like our wooden barrel cellar, in which traditional pieces of pieces are stored over 70 years old and offer optimal maturity conditions part of our red and white wines.
Rheinhessen, Germany's largest and oldest wine region, is located in the southwest of the country and is known for its variety of grape varieties, in particular Riesling, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau. The gentle hills, fertile floors and the mild climate create ideal conditions for the production of high -quality wines.
The region is characterized by traditional wine towns such as Nierstein, Oppenheim and Worms, modern wineries and a lively wine culture. Rheinhessen is considered an innovative pioneer in terms of sustainability and quality and offers enjoyer exciting discoveries.
