As the name suggests, our Pinot Noir Muschelkalk VDP.Gutswein comes exclusively from plots with shell limestone soils around Ingelheim. The shell limestone gives the wine a distinct minerality that emphasizes the slender elegance of the Pinot Noir. The wine is characterized by red berry fruit aromas with light tobacco and roasted notes. The freshness and present acidity make this pleasantly unobtrusive Pinot Noir a red wine enjoyment for every day.

The VDP estate wines reflect the J. Neus "house style". These wines reflect our J. Neus winery at a high level of quality and are suitable for everyday enjoyment. Here we use traditional grape varieties such as Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc and of course our J. Neus Pinot Noir.

Since 1881, the J.Neus winery has stood for Pinot Noir tradition in the red wine town of Ingelheim am Rhein. Back then, founder Josef Neus Senior laid the foundation for our self-imposed goal, Pinot Noir at the highest level level. Today, these old vines, well-maintained wooden barrels and in-depth knowledge of the chalky vineyards in the district form the solid basis for meeting the standards we have set ourselves.
