Light golden color with green nuances. The aromatic profile is livelier, more vertical and brighter, due to a higher acidity compared to previous vintages. The nose reveals pronounced smoky notes with hints of tropical fruit, apricot and peach as well as floral tones of yellow flowers, lemongrass and chamomile with a subtle hint of Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary. The taste is balanced with a pronounced, savory finish.

Recommendation: Serve well chilled at 9-10 degrees Celsius, it is a great food companion and goes very well with roast gilthead bream wrapped in Parma ham and creamy risotto, braised vegetables, grilled poultry, spicy rice dishes or mature cheese.

Angelo Gaja is a famous Italian winemaker. He is known for his high quality standards, care in winemaking and a clear idea of a "Gaja wine".

The roots of the company lie in Spain (17th century). The Gaja winery was then founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja , a grape producer in Barbaresco. Since the 1980s, the company has expanded its range of wines in other areas of Piedmont and Tuscany and now also produces Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino.
The current owner Angelo Gaja is known to have had a great influence on wine production throughout Italy with his oenological and economic methods. His wines are considered a status symbol on a par with Château Lafite-Rothschild or Krug.
