2018 McDougall Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The last of the Pinot Noirs, the 2018 Pinot Noir McDougall Ranch, is one of the larger production cuvées (even if they are small bottlings) and comes from a vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Notes of violets, Bing cherry, strawberry and raspberry as well as plenty of stems and spice rise from the glass, and this medium-bodied, savory, complex Pinot Noir has building tannins, solid mid-palate depth and a nice finish. Possibly my favorite of the bunch, it has excellent balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. It will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for over a decade.
