A very exciting wine, this Mercurey 1er Cru from Faiveley. Grown in the Cote Chalonnaise, just south of the Cote d Or, it shows plenty of juice and power, buffered somewhat by the nicely present, finely chiselled acidity. Lovely cherry notes on the nose make it a typical wine of clear provenance. A wine more for lovers of elegant, delicate Burgundy.
