52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 13% Petit Verdot. The Merlot was harvested from September 16 to 24, the Petit Verdot from September 23, and the Cabernet Sauvignon from September 24 to October 1. Cold soaking and some malo took place in new barrels. Aging in barriques (35% new).
Dark, brilliant purple color. Very glamorous indeed. Mature but fresh nose with an interesting balsamic note. Velvety smooth on the palate at first, with spicy tannins (which are indeed in abundance) that cling to the palate only at the end, which is dry but not drying. The finish is very long and sumptuous, revealing the stony character of St-Estèphe. Very elegant, without concessions to simple sweetness.
