The Monastrell, called Mourvedre in France, is the typical variety around the Mediterranean. Conde de Alicante vinifies this Monastrell with some residual sweetness, the wine is semi-dry. It tastes fresh, without notes of tire, the nose is dominated by cherry and elderberry, the tannins are ripe and robust, the wine does not use wooden barrels, so the fruit is in the foreground. Extremely drinkable wine for those who find dry wines too tart.
