The site is named after the former court site on Heppenheim's Landberg, where justice was dispensed for more than a thousand years. In 1904, the Grand Ducal Administration of Hesse-Darmstadt selected individual parcels of land between Bensheim and Heppenheim and cultivated them in its newly founded model and exemplary winery. In 1946, this farm became part of the Hessian State Wineries Kloster Eberbach.

Wines from the best sites
A unique cultural heritage, the best locations and the highest quality standards: these ingredients make our wines a special experience.
The vineyards of Weingut Kloster Eberbach cover almost 230 hectares in the Rheingau and on the Hessische Bergstrasse. The vines for our wines and sparkling wines grow on this terroir - sustainably and carefully produced, always with the demand for the best quality at an international level.
The history of Weingut Kloster Eberbach goes back just as far as the history of the cultural monument itself: Even for the French monks who settled in the Rheingau at the beginning of the 12th century, winegrowing was one of their main occupations. What was initially intended for their own consumption soon developed into a sought-after commodity that secured the future and prosperity of the monastery.
