2014 Arcanum

Traditionally, cooler climate years in Tuscany produce elegant and ethereal high fruit tones. The nose explodes with bright raspberries and wild berries, with some floral tones of lavender. Although this is a Bordeaux-style blend, the palate is more Burgundian with soft, elegant tannins and textures. The slightly more pronounced than usual acids frame a potpourri of blueberries and sour cherries. The fruit slowly subsides and gives way to exotic spices reminiscent of cardamom, ending with sweet black licorice.
