It is our philosophy to support the wine in its respective characteristics every year and to produce wines typical of the vintage through careful cellar technology. Naturally, Grüner Veltliner plays a central role, which we cultivate with passion in 6 different varieties. Nevertheless, we also cultivate the diversity of varieties. Our wines are natural, quality wines that regularly take top places in national and international competitions.

The correct cultivation of the loess soil after the winter months (quality-oriented pruning), the professional training of the vines in spring until the harvest in autumn (targeted foliage work, optimal harvest time, gentle processing of the grapes), the ageing of the wine in steel tanks as well as in traditional oak barrels, the careful bottling of the wine and, last but not least, the best possible bottle storage guarantee excellent wine quality.

The vineyards are cultivated as sustainably and carefully as possible - through the use of natural vineyard greening, alternative pest control and the application of compost. Since the 2020 vintage, our winery has been "Certified Sustainable Austria”.

The knowledge of wine pressing has been passed down in our family for generations and dates back to the 17th century. Our great-grandfather built the first stone press in the village, our grandfather was the first to plant grafted vines in this region and was one of the first in Austria to bottle wine in bouteilles from the 1932 vintage onwards. Three centuries of wine tradition are reflected in the high quality and fine harmony of our wines.

In the north-east of Austria lies the Weinviertel, which is the largest wine-growing region in the country with an area of over 13,000 hectares. It is therefore no wonder that you can enjoy and experience wine in all its facets here - be it in a glass, on a bike tour along special wine cycle paths or in the cellar lanes, which are the trademark of the Weinviertel. The Grüner Veltliner from the Weinviertel, also known as Weinviertel DAC, is popular far beyond Austria's borders.

The Weinviertel borders three regions and two countries: in the west, the venerable Manhartsberg, at an altitude of around 540 meters, forms the border with the neighbouring Waldviertel. In the south, the border to the other two regions of Lower Austria, the Mostviertel and the Industrieviertel, is not formed by a mountain, but by the Danube, the second longest river in Europe. In the east, the border of the Weinviertel runs along the state border with Slovakia, which is marked by the March. In the north, the border runs along the state border with the Czech Republic.

The Weinviertel is as diverse and varied as its inhabitants. Austria's largest vineyard can be divided into four regions: the Weinviertel above the Leiser Berge, the Weinviertel below the Manhartsberg, the Weinviertel outside Vienna and the Marchfeld in the Weinviertel. Each of these regions has its own charm and enchants visitors with numerous special features and experiences that can only be found here in the Weinviertel. A visit to any of these regions is worthwhile!
