The "Concerto" came onto the market in 1981, when the great, as yet untapped potential of the wines was recognized. At the time, winegrowers were experimenting with new grape blends, including non-indigenous grape varieties. This gave rise to the so-called "Super Tuscans", of which "Concerto" is one of the pioneers and most important representatives.
