2016 La Mission Haut Brion Rouge

The 2016 La Mission Haut-Brion is a blend of 57.5% Merlot and 42.5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little muted at first and soon develops slowly growing aromas of crushed blackcurrant, black cherry, dark chocolate and candied violets with nuances of crushed rock, tobacco leaf, forest floor and fragrant earth as well as a hint of bergamot. It is medium-bodied and extremely elegant on the palate. It offers perfectly ripe, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness with layer upon layer of perfumed fruit and a very long, ferruginous finish.
