2017 High Contrast Vineyard Syrah

With a deep ruby core that fades to a purple rim, the 2017 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard explodes from the glass with pronounced smoky aromas wafting with delicate notes of dark chocolate-covered blackberry, then hints of roasted coffee bean, notions of petrichor, baked earth and dried herbs emerge. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is elegant and powerful, showing a balanced chassis with youthful tannins that evolve with the complex nature of the wine. The mid palate is velvety and firm before moving into a long finish that increases in complexity and richness as the expression harmoniously resonates, confirming another blockbuster Syrah from the ever-so-talented Christophe Baron. Only 386 cases produced.
