2019 Côtes du Rhône Beatus Ille

Isabel Ferrando's "Côtes du Rhône 'Clos Beatus Ille'" is one of the great "Côtes du Rhône" of our time. Actually, "great" and "Côtes du Rhône" are not necessarily associated with each other, but here it seems appropriate, because the wine moves between depth, complexity, spice and dark fruit, juiciness and finesse at a level that is often sorely lacking in many of the region's cheaper cru wines. It is a perfect marriage of sophistication and pleasure.
