2020 Châteauneuf du Pape Colombis

The phenomenal thing about this wine is that it has tremendous concentration and warmth, while also being cool and fresh. This is exactly what few wines from the region have, and it is part of its greatness and distinctiveness. Working strictly organically in the vineyard, Isabel Ferrando perfectly adapts her cellar work to the requirements of the terroir. In this case, that means she ferments the pure Grenache with stems and stalks, and does so in demi-muids, 600-liter barrels used for several years. The wood plays hardly any role as an aroma carrier in her wines.
