2020 Zinfandel Old Vine

The 2020 vintage presents itself floral scented, dark transparent in color, beautifully dense and silky in mouthfeel. Red berries meet exotic sweet spices. The scent of summer meets cool tobacco and noble wood. Not heavy, not massive, but powerfully harmonious in mouth-filling opulence, this wine gets to work. Light-footed, it transforms on the palate into a joyful, sophisticated drinking flow that seems to literally flood the mouth. In contrast, the Apulian Primitivo has a hard time. It is genetically Zinfandel, but never reaches the level of its Californian counterpart. Only "real" Zinfandel can be as distinctive and high-quality as this.
