For many years, Silvaner was the most widely grown grape variety in Germany, along with Müller-Thurgau, before it was mainly displaced by Riesling. One almost has to regret this, because Dirk Emmich shows how delicate and enchanting a Silvaner can taste. Hawthorn and lime blossoms on the nose, finely woven, crisp fruity acidity, wonderfully light and wonderfully drinkable.
