Chateau Croizet Bages is located in the communal appellation of Pauillac in Bordeaux on the plateau of Bages. The neighbor of the 30-hectare estate is the famous Lynch Bages. At the end of the 18th century, the vineyards were acquired by the namesake Croizet brothers and sold to Jean de Puytarac just a few years later. Two years before the classification of 1855, the estate became the property of the Calvé family, which led to a change of name as Château Calvé Croizet-Bages. It then retained this name until 1934. In that year, Paul Quié acquired the estate, which has remained in the possession of this family to this day. It is one of those not at all rare examples of calling itself a château, but there is no castle there. The family also owns Château Rauzan-Gassies (Margaux).
